Dear Peter:
Peter, I just wanted to thank you for helping me select the “Best” mattress and pillow that I have ever slept on. Wen and I have had the Healthrest Celebrity mattress and King Perfect pillows for over a week now and we have experienced the most restful sleep ever. It doesn’t hurt to sleep anymore. We deserved this quality of sleep years ago; I only wish that I didn’t let those darn annoying commercials prevent me from walking in the doors of the Best Sleep Centre before this purchase. I guarantee that I will be back later this summer to purchase another Healthrest Celebrity mattress for our son, as he too deserves to experience the best sleep possible.
As I said, I ended up in your store after purchasing a new bed from a major department store on Saturday, March 8th based on an advertisement in a local newspaper that morning. The easy thing for this company to do was to publish the advertisement and sell me the bed. Unfortunately, I would find out four days later that they were not able to supply and deliver the bed as promised as they had to backorder the bed. Frankly, I was pissed and I cancelled my order immediately telling them that I was not prepared to wait as there are many companies that sell beds. They seemed surprised; obviously they don’t get it.
I knew exactly what I was going to do. Despite my stubbornness and longstanding annoyance of the David Keam radio and television advertisements, I decided to lower my guard and call his bluff by heading to Best Sleep Centre at 166 Meadowood Drive. On the way there I almost drove into one of your competitors by accident when I entered the wrong parking lot. Thankfully I promptly pulled out of their parking lot without going in; and wouldn’t you know it, “I found you”, just as David said I would.
I was skeptical of David’s claim when I entered the store, as I have been “burned” by bed salespersons many times before. However, my experience with you was different. You were genuinely interested in educating me about beds, the structure of beds, and the differences between your various products and the differences between Restonic products and your competitors’ beds. You were not trying to up-sell or anything like that, rather you offered me an opportunity to make a relaxed, informed decision. I did not feel any pressure at all and I didn’t feel like I was getting “slimed”. I realized then and there that I should have come to Best Sleep Centre first instead of the major department store, as I would get a better quality mattress, better buying experience, and would actually get the mattress delivered to my home at a lower cost. Like the Borg say on Star Trek Voyager, “Resistance is futile”.
In fact, I spent a little more than I had originally planned, but we ended up purchasing a King Bed instead of a Queen, and our Helathrest Celebrity bed is a far superior product compared to the “Black Box” mattress that I was planning to buy from the department store. I was also impressed that you checked your available inventory before selling me the bed. My wife was impressed that you delivered the bed on the next day.
The commercials are still really bad, but our sleep experience is the “Best” ever.
