The Brandon Store ClosesHello All My loyal customers and friends in Brandon and surrounding areas.
We recently decided to close the store in Brandon and I want to explain why.
The simple reason is we are located downtown and no one else is anymore. We have been in the Brandon area for about 15 years. We did well there for many years. Then the town decided to build on the hill and over time this decision gutted the entire downtown.
Coffee shops and fine dining left and retail of every kind and finally the Brick left for the top of the hill and simple to say traffic on the one way street leading into the downtown over the years has died and part of any companies needs is for traffic generated simply by your location and that simply disappeared.
Don my manager sold to almost everyone who walked in the building; sad to say many days that was one person. Local TV died in Brandon a couple or five years ago and that hurt too. We are on Winnipeg TV which covers all over the province and it seems to work very well in Winnipeg and the surrounding area; even "Red Lake" sees us but it seemed to do nothing for the Brandon market.
And lets be fair there are many a good local operator in Brandon and we simply can’t be involved in the Community like many of them are. We don't have the manpower; and many of them deserve your loyalty.
Retail all over North America is changing and smaller stores in smaller towns and Cities are being taken over by the internet as well. Best Sleep Centre sells many of its products all over the country from our huge website and we simply need to put our energies into the places people need our services.
I have worked hard in the Brandon Market and may come again when the 1417 Rosser location is leased but for now if you need us we are at 18003837755 and if you have bought from us we will service you no matter the expense.
We now have 2 Sleep Centre stores in Winnipeg and one in Steinbach; a city that's politicians have not destroyed its downtown, and our new 10,000 sq. foot Buhler clearance Outlet at 1821 Wellington Ave in Winnipeg.
Thank you Don for all your hard work over the 10 years you serviced Brandon. You became more family then employee, you tried hard as did we. No one can fight a pile of political decisions that leaves a downtown completely abandoned of retail and dining. I tried for many a year.
I hope this changes over time.
