If you have recently purchased a new mattress, you should be thinking about how to protect your investment. There is no better way to protect your investment and your health than investing in a quality mattress protector. If you already have purchased a mattress and accepted delivery, you missed out on this information. Here is what you need to know about mattress protectors.

The third is total encasement and is for bed bug protection only. This unit NEVER comes off the mattress and is put under the 5-sided protector which is then removed and laundered whether or not you have bed bug protection.
Most mattress protectors cover your mattress like a fitted bed sheet. They do not cover the entire mattress, but do protect it against most accidental spills, bacteria, and many allergens. They are made of water-resistant materials that still allow for considerable airflow and breath-ability. If you have a mattress that has cooling technology in its uppermost layers it will retain the benefits of this cooling technology while simultaneously protecting your investment, if you buy a proper 5 sided super thin protector. If you buy the cheaper versions, you will lose or reduce your cooling features.

Mattress Encasements and Bed Bug Protectors
A mattress encasement never comes off, protects only against bed bugs, and, depending on the quality, may or may not be waterproof as well. As stated, they are designed to never come off and are to be used only when bed bugs are an issue. They are placed under a regular protector so that they can be laundered, and the bed bug protector never needs to be removed. Mattress encasements are usually zippered and cover the entire mattress from top to bottom, thus they will deliver 360° coverage.

Why use a mattress protector?
Although there are many cleaning agents and tips on how to clean a mattress, you do not want to do this. Even a soap ring WILL void any mattress warranty because NO ONE is going to figure out what is causing that stain. It simply cannot be there.
