If you have recently purchased a new mattress, you should be thinking about how to protect your investment. There is no better way to protect your investment and your health than investing in a quality mattress protector. If you already have purchased a mattress and accepted delivery, you missed out on this information. Here is what you need to know about mattress protectors.
Most quality mattress protectors fit just like a fitted sheet and can easily be thrown in the wash along with your sheets and pillowcases. Their hypoallergenic design protects against bacteria, dust mites and fluids and they keep that mattress looking and feeling new for years to come.
Investing when you buy your mattress protector from your mattress supplier can save your warranty.
Mattress protectors generally come in three categories and is typically either a 5-sided waterproof mattress cover that safeguards the top and all four sides of your mattress or the cheaper version that only protects the top of the mattress; any stain anywhere will void your warranty so we highly recommend the 5 sided and later will explain why you need to do this when buying your mattress. The third is total encasement and is for bed bug protection only. This unit NEVER comes off the mattress and is put under the 5-sided protector which is then removed and laundered whether or not you have bed bug protection.
Most mattress protectors cover your mattress like a fitted bed sheet. They do not cover the entire mattress, but do protect it against most accidental spills, bacteria, and many allergens. They are made of water-resistant materials that still allow for considerable airflow and breath-ability. If you have a mattress that has cooling technology in its uppermost layers it will retain the benefits of this cooling technology while simultaneously protecting your investment, if you buy a proper 5 sided super thin protector. If you buy the cheaper versions, you will lose or reduce your cooling features.
Choose a mattress protector if you:
Mattress Encasements and Bed Bug Protectors
A mattress encasement never comes off, protects only against bed bugs, and, depending on the quality, may or may not be waterproof as well. As stated, they are designed to never come off and are to be used only when bed bugs are an issue. They are placed under a regular protector so that they can be laundered, and the bed bug protector never needs to be removed. Mattress encasements are usually zippered and cover the entire mattress from top to bottom, thus they will deliver 360° coverage.
Choose a mattress encasement if you:
There are a variety of mattress protectors and mattress encasements available. Some offer simple stain protection while others also deliver protection against sweat and allergens and irritants such as bed bugs, mold, dust mites, and dead skin. Best Sleep Centre’s FES Pure Care protectors offer quality protection which will be breathable and will not hinder the cooling benefits of the mattress. When purchasing a quality protector or encasement that is worth the money, consider these tips:
Most protectors use fabrics and materials that are moisture-resistant but still allow for some breath-ability. Terry cloth, Polyester, Lycra and even vinyl are popular materials that still allow for breath-ability while repelling water.
We only recommend the best; Medical grade Pure Care Mattress protection, and many people buy from us because our warranty is better than what our competitors will provide.
Here is how it works.
Let us say you want to save money, so you buy your mattress from us and your mattress protector from Amazon.
Let me tell you what you gave up for that $20 in supposed savings.
1: Three free replacements in a ten-year period if your mattress has a ten-year warranty which most do.
2: Stain protection. When you buy your mattress protector elsewhere, and it fails your mattress warranty is potentially voided. ANY stain voids a mattress warranty. Our protector program gives a warranty on your protector that enhances your mattress warranty and protects and warrants against this failure. ONLY when bought and on the same invoice as your mattress purchase. Pure Care will send a mattress cleaner right to your home to remove any stain caused by the failure of their product* of course there are conditions, so please read the program details.
We have had several mattresses replaced by Pure Care, so we know they are honest in this endeavour. Pure Care mattress protectors can be washed and dried hot, so there is no “you washed it wrong” excuses used by our supplier. So Pure Care is better because unlike most protectors out there they do not limit stains to one occurrence stains, and this is important. Sweat stains can happen when you are sick for a week. That is not a one occurrence stain. Spilling wine is. Who does that anyway? Sex is hopefully not a one occurrence stain? Read the card provided, and you will find that Pure Care offers the best protection for your mattress for things that are likely to happen. Anyone can provide a warranty against the roof collapsing, but will they offer a warranty against sweat and body fluids? Not sexy but real.
Buy your mattress protector when you buy your mattress from Best Sleep Centre, and we will have no excuses because we want none.
Why use a mattress protector?
Although there are many cleaning agents and tips on how to clean a mattress, you do not want to do this. Even a soap ring WILL void any mattress warranty because NO ONE is going to figure out what is causing that stain. It simply cannot be there.
GOOD Mattress protection products absorb or repel liquids and allergens and are easily washable in the washer and dryer. Protecting the integrity of your mattress and having a fresh surface to sleep on ensures you are healthier and happier in the long run. Pure Care also again; keep out sweat which is an acid; adding life to the comfort life of your mattress. To say it again most protectors are for one occurrence stains and this means sweat is not covered. Pure Care being medical grade. Does more than any other protector we have ever sold.
A quality mattress protector or encasement can provide that extra layer of protection that you need to avoid flare-ups triggered by common allergens and irritants like dust mites and bed bugs. Mattress protection is commonly used in nurseries and health care facilities, primarily because both protectors and encasements easily cleaned and sanitized.
